FLIGHT UPDATE: We have ordered the following supplies from Texas A & M with Dr. Craig Wilson
Flight #1 will have Mr. Gantt and Mrs. Abramoff as scientists.
Flight #2 will Mr. Doucimo and Ms. Veiga as scientists.
The corn earworm larvae (worm stage of life) goes through different growth stages (instars), the flight will have very small worms (1st instars) and larger worms (4th instars). The PUPAE are worms that are undergoing metamorphosis (in cocoons)
For Flight #1
1st instars = 40
4th instars = 40
pupae = 40
For Flight #2
1st instars = 40
4th instars = 40
pupae = 40
In order for the research to be valid - we must have a group of worms that DO NOT fly in microgravity.
These worms will stay on ground as a means for comparison.
For control group
1st instars = 40
4th instars = 40
pupae = 40
GO HEAT - and GO MANNY and the worm crew!
